The book looks to have been professionally rebound in full leather in , judging by flyleaf inscriptions. Features 3 frontispiece illustrations preceding Pickwick Papers and Master Humphrey's Clock is densely illustrated. Book is in wonderful condition with only a bit of bumping around the leather edges. Decorative endpages are Rating: % positive. London: Chapman and Hall, First edition. Three volumes. Large 8vo. iii-vi, ; iii -vi, ; iii -vi, pp, bound without the half titles. Contemporary black half calf over marbled boards, spines with wide gilt decorated raised bands, gilt lettered direct to one panel, blindstamped decoration to the others. Frontispieces plus wood engraved illustrations throughout.

Three frontispieces and numerous woodcut illustrations by George Cattermole and Hablot Browne and decorated initials in the text. In near fine condition.
